INTRODUCTION
We’ve been lied to and stolen from. Our culture sends us a series of messages about how to find satisfaction in life. Most of these messages lead us to working a lot, staying busy, carrying a lot of stress, missing out on exercise, shallow relationships, poor nutrition, and feelings of emptiness. Jesus says there is a thief who tries to steal, kill, & destroy our lives. But Jesus actually wants to lead us toward a rich and satisfying life.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
- If you had an extra day each week, how would you use it?
- Are you more of a scheduled person or a spontaneous person?
- Do you currently feel like you have some space in your schedule or that it’s pretty cramped?
- Have you taken time to fill out the “schedule card” you were given at Athens Church? Is anything keeping you from filling it out honestly?
- Looking at your schedule, do you think there’s anything you need to stop?
- How do you typically spend your free time at night? Of those activities, which ones energize you and which ones just pass time?
- What do you think you need in your schedule that would feed your soul?
- Do you have a consistent time that you spend with God to pray, read the Bible, and meditate?
CHANGING YOUR MIND
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. John 10:10
