Athens Church

Membership

Considering membership? You've come to the right place. We've designed this site to answer your membership questions and actually guide you through the steps to becoming a member. That's right, you can actually join online! "Not personal enough!" you say. Hang on, we are just getting started. You may be surprised to know that Athens Church (AC) has more attenders on an average weekend than we do members. Why is this? Well, as you are about to discover, membership at AC involves more than simply getting your name on a list. At AC membership is synonymous with involvement.

What will I have to do?

Specifically, as a member of AC you will be called upon to help create, lead, and resource our various ministry environments. Interestingly enough, most people who want to join AC are already serving in some capacity. If that's your situation you have already taken the first step in the membership process: you are involved! If you haven't found a place to serve, but you are a member of a small group, no problem. You too have taken a first step toward membership. If you are new to AC and have not connected with a small group or a Strategic Service Team we want to help facilitate that process right now. Click on the links to the right. We will collect some information and then someone will contact you about getting involved in either a group or a Strategic Service Team. After your brief detour to either of these sites come on back and we will walk you through the membership application!

As a regular attender, you've had a front row seat to observe the life-changing mission of AC. But we realize that while seeing is believing, just seeing may not have covered it all. Over the next few minutes, we are going to give you an overview of our mission and ministry strategy. We'll give you access to all of the important information you'll need as a member, including our core values and statement of faith. Finally, you'll have the opportunity to apply for membership online from the comfort of your own computer. In the process we'll ask about your personal relationship with Jesus Christ as well as your baptism. We'll also collect some biographical information to make you aware of ministry opportunities designed for your season of life.
