COMMUNITY GROUPS
Community groups...The place to build
meaningful friendships.
Community groups are groups of six individuals or six married couples who meet regularly in someone's home for life sharing and spiritual growth. We offer community groups for married couples, single men, single women, college men, and college women.

If you would like to join a community group, please attend our next Adult GroupLink on August 17th. We will be forming dozens of groups that day. Until then, the best place to begin developing friendships is on one of our strategic service teams. If you are interested in joining a strategic service team, please fill out this form.

Why Does Athens Church Do Community Groups?
We believe that this is the place where sustained life change occurs. Community groups are where real life and real issues are discussed. This is the environment where we celebrate the successes of life, as well as comfort one another during the disappointing times. It is a place to be encouraged and equipped to live in the way of Jesus.

When Do Community Groups Meet?
Each community group decides when and where it wants to meet. Most groups meet in the homes of the members on a weekly basis.

How Long Does A Community Group Last?
Each group commits initially for eight weeks. At the end of this time, the group members can decide to continue as a community group and extend their commitment for 10-22 months, or they can begin the process again. The length of time that your group will meet together is decided by your group.
